Minutes of the DFW Intergroup on August 25, 2010 The meeting was called to order at 8:40 PM by Jay Y. We said the Serenity Prayer together.
Those present: Jay Y representing the Hope & Recovery group David H representing the Hope & Recovery group Art representing the Wylie group Pete F representing the Hope & Recovery group Dave R representing the Plano group Robert representing the Ft. Worth group Tracy representing the Ft Worth group
Old Business In the absence of the treasurer, Dave R passed around the treasurer's report. Currently, the treasury is standing at $661.17. Gene D. has requested that the Intergroup take over the cost of hosting the Intergroup web site. He has a bill for $80 for the remainder of this year and the cost will be $100 next full year. Dave R moved that we reimburse Gene D. the $80 for this year. Pete F. seconded it and it passed. The Hope & Recovery group has been paying for the Intergroup phone line at about $30 per month. It would be better practice to note that on the treasurer's report as a cost and a donation each month.
Officer Election We discussed the need for officers for the Intergroup, but nobody present was willing to step up for this service. We decided to defer the selection of trusted servants to the next Intergroup meeting.
New Business: Pete F. presented numerous handouts about the Fall Retreat which is scheduled for October 22 through 24 at the Briarwood Retreat Center in Argyle TX. He has made specific preparations so that the retreat can be Co-ed in a safe way. The financial plan is based on 32 people showing up for it. We suggested some tweaks to the plan but approved it basically as presented. We had broad consensus on paying the costs of the retreat.
A bit of Old Business: Dave R moved to allow the Dallas Women's group to be listed on the Intergroup web site. Art seconded it. It was passed.
We adjourned at 9:36 PM with the Serenity Prayer
